During its Aug. 7 meeting, the Bensalem Township board of school directors approved the appointment of Molly Mangan to the position of 11th-grade assistant principal at Bensalem High School, and Borislav Ben to the position of assistant principal at Belmont Hills and Cornwells Elementary schools.
In August 2015, Mangan began her career at Bensalem High School as an English teacher. Additionally, she served as an instructional coach at BHS, working alongside other coaches to support staff in instruction and classroom management. For the past five school years while teaching, she has been an MTSS (multi-tiered system of supports) Interventionist, developing and implementing MTSS action plans for students identified to need assistance.
Mangan earned her master of science in transformative education and social change and her bachelor of science in English and professional secondary education from West Chester University.
“I am both honored and thrilled to be part of the BHS administrative team and serve the students and staff in a building that has grown so dear to me over the past 10 years,” said Mangan. “The students and staff are bar none and I am so proud to be a part of the BHS family. I look forward to continuing to uphold our school’s promise of supporting each student in discovering their passion for learning and paving the way for their future careers and lifelong success.”
Ben began his career in education as a fifth-grade teacher at Anne Frank Elementary School in the School District of Philadelphia. He taught a Russian-English dual language classroom with an emphasis on developing students’ cross-cultural and cross-linguistic competence. He has held various positions, such as curriculum writer and principal intern. He served most recently as assistant principal at John Marshall School.
He earned his bachelor of science in early childhood education and special education from Temple University, and his master of science in education from the University of Pennsylvania.
“I look forward to coming home to Bensalem, joining the leadership team, and being in service to the students, parents, teachers and staff of the Bensalem community,” said Ben.
