The Emergency Department at Jefferson Bucks Hospital has been recognized with a Lantern Award from the Emergency Nurses Association for demonstrating expertise in triage, patient care, disaster preparedness and all aspects of emergency nursing care.
The Emergency Nurses Association is the premier professional nursing association dedicated to defining the future of emergency nursing through advocacy, education, research, innovation and leadership. With a global emergency nursing community, ENA advocates for patient safety, develops industry-leading nursing practice standards and guidelines, and guides emergency healthcare public policy.
“We are incredibly proud of our Emergency Department nurses on attaining the ENA Lantern Award,” said Michelle Conley, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, senior vice president and chief nursing officer, Jefferson Health. “This prestigious designation is an external validation from our professional nursing organization: our Jefferson Bucks Emergency Department nurses are extraordinary and the care they provide is exemplary.”
As part of the application, emergency nursing departments share examples highlighting their commitment to exemplary nursing care and the initiatives to improve nursing staff’s wellbeing. Applications are reviewed and scored by the ENA Lantern Award Committee. The award lasts for a three-year cycle, after which emergency departments are eligible to re-apply.
The 2024 ENA Lantern Award recipients will receive a physical award to display as a visible symbol of their commitment to quality, safety and a healthy work environment. Awardees will be recognized at Emergency Nursing 2024, ENA’s annual conference, held this September in Las Vegas.
