The 7th annual Wine on the Waterfront returns to the banks of the Delaware River at 1112 River Road in Washington Crossing on Saturday, July 27, from 3 to 7 p.m. At this tasting event, sip on wine from a number of Pennsylvania and New Jersey wineries, savor food in a relaxing atmosphere and hear songs from a local jazz musician while supporting Washington Crossing Historic Park. Tickets are on sale now, in limited supply, at washingtoncrossingbrewfest.ticketbud.com/wine-on-the-waterfront-2024 and will not be sold at the gate. Cost is $40 general admission, $15 designated drivers.
“Wine on the Waterfront is such a special event, one I look forward to each year. It showcases all the fabulous wine, nature, music and history of our area in a beautiful setting,” said Jennifer Martin, executive director of The Friends of Washington Crossing Park. “If all that weren’t enough, all the proceeds from this event also go toward an incredible cause. It’s your chance to give back while we’re having a great time.”
All ticket holders must be 21 or older and IDs will be checked at the gate. General admission includes a complimentary wine glass and one ounce wine samples. Crossing Vineyards, Grace Winery, Rebel Hive Meadery, Sand Castle Winery and Unionville Vineyards are returning vendors, while Cyrenity Sips Winery, Mount Bethel Farms and Paradocx Vineyard are new this year. For the first time, wine will be available for purchase by the glass, bottle and case, which can be enjoyed onsite or packaged to go.
After finding the perfect wine, attendees can relish in the relaxing atmosphere. Set up a comfy spot in the grass with blankets and chairs to take in picturesque Delaware River views and the natural beauty of the park. The festivities take place next to the historic Hibbs House Kitchen Garden, which has a variety of 18th-century flowers, herbs and planets that are frequented by native pollinators. It’s the perfect backdrop for a summer picnic with food brought from home or purchased from Goodnoe Farm Ice Cream and Local Harvest Pizza.
Guests will enjoy live entertainment from Hailey Brinnel and her quartet. Brinnel is a rising jazz trombonist and vocalist based in Philadelphia, who has performed at acclaimed venues throughout America and Europe. She was a finalist in the 2021 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, featured on Spotify’s 2022 and 2023 “Best Vocal Jazz” editorial playlists, and named one of GRAMMY.com’s “10 Emerging Jazz Artists to Watch.” Her debut album I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles peaked at No. 13 on Amazon’s “Jazz New Release” chart and her latest album Beautiful Tomorrow received a 4-star review in Downbeat magazine.
This fundraiser is organized by The Friends of Washington Crossing Park, which provides educational and historical programming.
