NOVA honors and celebrates volunteers

More than 70 volunteers, board and staff members attended an Appreciation Dinner in Warminster

NOVA, Bucks County’s comprehensive crime victim services agency, recently held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at Guiseppe’s Pizza and Family Restaurant in Warminster. More than 70 volunteers, board and staff members attended the dinner.

The event is an opportunity to honor the volunteers who help NOVA in its mission to support victims of crime and end violence. More than 200 volunteers assist staff with tasks such as answering the 24/7 Helpline, working at the NOVA Thrift Shop, helping with special events, serving on the NOVA board, and providing administrative and committee support.

This year, 21 volunteers were honored for reaching milestone anniversaries of service to NOVA.

Those celebrating five years are: Chery Halderson, Denise Folweiler, Diane Reeves-Pak, Diane Soncini, Edie Kling, Joyce Justice, Karen Dawkins, Kathy Schweizer, Mary Fravel, Nancy Vander Zwan, Robert Kling, Sandy Sweitzer-Yerk and Sue Bechtold.

Those celebrating 10 years are: Ellen O’Neill, Julie Ann Mejia, Linda Stezelberger and Trudy Donnon.

Those celebrating 20 years are: Richard Sakulich, Doris Fiorentino and Pauline Boyle.

“We are so grateful to our amazing volunteers for their time, talents and dedication to NOVA’s mission,” said Julie Dugery, volunteer and community outreach coordinator at NOVA. “The Volunteer Appreciation Dinner gives us the opportunity to honor them for the countless hours they have committed to NOVA over the past year.”
