Silver Lake Nature Center, 1306 Bath Road, Bristol, announced a number of upcoming summer events.

Volunteer Work Days take place July 6, Aug. 3 and Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to noon. Join on the first Saturday of each month to help keep the SLNC Trails/Grounds beautiful. Be prepared to get wet and dirty. Bring a refillable water bottle. Register online.

Invasive Plant Removal Volunteer Project Days take place July 20, Aug. 17 and Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon. The Invasive Plants Removal team meets once a month to help clear invasive plants from specific areas on the SLNC Trails/Grounds. Each season brings new plants in various degrees of difficulty. These days also serve as learning opportunities, and often involve planting native plants and trees. Register online or by phone.

Earthship Tours take place Saturdays, July 20, Aug. 17 and Sept. 21, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Free. Stop by to visit and learn about these interesting, sustainable structures. Donations to the nonprofit Friends of SLNC are gratefully appreciated. Register online.

Family-friendly Kindness Rock Garden Series takes place Saturdays, July 20 and Aug. 17, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Families and individuals are welcome to join SLNC and the Kiwanis of Levittown-Bristol to help SLNC grow its own Garden of Kindness. Attendees will be painting, so feel free to wear a smock, apron or old shirt. This special series is sponsored by the Kiwanis of Levittown-Bristol and is free to participants. Space is limited; pre-registration is required. Register online or by phone.

Bird Seed Sales are offered four times throughout the year, with the next one scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19 (for orders placed by Oct. 10). But in the meantime, SLNC has some bird seed available for drop-ins. Bird watching is more fun when you can attract them to your own yard, so fill your feeders with one of SLNC’s special mixes. Friends of SLNC Members receive a 10 percent discount on all orders. Order placements and more information is available online.

Trails are open daily, from sunrise to sunset. SLNC Visitors’ Center is open Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays, from noon to 5 p.m.

Visit SilverLakeNatureCenter.org or call 215-785-1177 for more information or to register for events.
