Bensalem Police officers attend 43rd National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service in D.C.; a woman is wanted for a retail theft at Home Depot

Bensalem Police officers recently attended the 43rd National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service in Washington, D.C., paying tribute to the 282 officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while performing their duties as a police officer. 

Police Week events serve as a reminder of the dangers law enforcement faces daily. Bensalem’s Motor Patrol Unit members escorted the Unity Tour riders to D.C. and the Honor Guard represented the department. 

Locally, the department’s annual Police Memorial Service was held on May 20 at the township building, 2400 Byberry Road. The ceremony honored fallen officers James Armstrong and Robert Yezzi.

Visa gift card theft

Bensalem Police are investigating a theft that occurred at Dollar General, 2802 Street Road, on May 10. At approximately 7 p.m., it was reported that two unknown black females were involved in a theft in which Visa gift cards were fraudulently loaded with money by convincing the clerk to let them manipulate the register. The women fled the area in a dark blue Honda Accord with an unknown temporary registration tag. St. Ephrem students tour police department

Kindergarten students from St. Ephrem’s School took a tour of the Bensalem Township Police Department as part of a fundraising effort. The students spoke with officers, were shown the entire facility, and even saw one of the drones in action. 

Home Depot retail theft

Bensalem Police are investigating a retail theft that occurred at the Home Depot, 900 Rockhill Drive, on May 13. It was reported at approximately 6 p.m. that an unknown female entered the store and stole a $299 Transfer Switch kit. She fled the area on foot without paying for the merchandise.
