For decades, May has been National Tennis Month and, while this year is no different, the Bucks County Tennis Association has a different way to celebrate it. May is a special time to celebrate tennis and raise awareness that the sport is inclusive, easy and social, not to mention healthy — studies have proven that playing tennis has been found to add 10 years to your life.
May 19 is National “Hit To Be Fit” Day — the largest collaborative cardio tennis event in the country. The USTA National Campus in Florida, as well as nearly 300 facilities across the country, will be participating simultaneously.
Whether you currently play tennis or not, join the BCTA at Council Rock North High School from 2 to 5 p.m. and be part of the country-wide celebration of the sport. Adult Red Ball will illustrate that people can learn to play the game in as little as 30 minutes, and Cardio Tennis Triples will provide an example of how a cardio tennis program can give athletes another way to burn calories by combining tennis and a high-energy fitness experience.
And, of course, don’t miss out on the post-event “Party on the Court.”
