The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its next keynote networking and breakfast meeting on Wednesday, May 8, at Woods Services, 40 Martin Gross Drive, Langhorne. Networking is from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and the program is from 9 to 10:15 a.m.
Gary Lewandowski Jr., Ph.D., professor of psychology at Monmouth University, will present “The 3 Relationship Superpowers Every Partner (and Professional) Needs.” Your choice of relationship partner is the one decision that impacts every facet of life, including your mental health, physical health, ability to deal with stress and career success. Yet, we spend very little time learning how to have strong relationships or developing the skills that will make them a reality.
In this presentation, Lewandowski will discuss research showing how romantic relationships impact the workplace in terms of productivity, burnout risk, leadership and overall career success. To help strengthen relationships, Lewandowski will discuss the importance of three key relationship skills: curiosity, perspective-taking and listening. All three will not only directly benefit romantic relationships, but also apply to professional relationships.
Key takeaways will include:
- How to ask better questions
- How to apologize more authentically
- The importance of seeing the world through your partner’s eyes
- Several strategies for improving your perspective-taking skills
- A mindset that allows you to truly listen
There is no charge to attend for LBCCC members. Cost is $20 for non-members attending their first keynote. More information and registration is available at cca.lbccc.org/EvtListing.aspx?dbid2=PALBC&evtid=603072&class=E.
