In partnership with the Garden Club of Bristol Borough, the Grundy Museum welcomes Michael Bowell for a presentation titled “Orchids: Cultivating Refined Beauty” at the Grundy Library Snyder Room, 680 Radcliffe St., Bristol, on Saturday, Feb. 10, at noon. This program is free and light refreshments will be served. Registration is required for attendance at grundymuseum.ticketleap.com.
Bowell, owner and lead designer at Create A Scene Inc., started his lifelong orchid adventure in the 1970s while attending Cook College, the Agricultural College, at Rutgers University. He is a horticulturist by vocation and avocation, and has participated in many flower and orchid shows along the east coast. His garden business designs and develops gardens in the Philadelphia area and in the Jersey Shore towns of Longport and Margate City. Bowell has also participated for years in both commercial and hobbyist exhibitions at the Philadelphia Flower Show, Chester County Flower Show and SEPOS Shows, winning many Best-in-Show and AOS Show trophies.
The museum has enjoyed the partnership created between Bowell and staff to bring its vision of Margaret’s Garden, the South Lawn, and River Park Terrace Gardens to fruition.
