Bensalem students selected to PMEA festivals

The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 11 Band and Choral Festivals were hosted at BHS this year

Bensalem High School students were recently selected to the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 11 Band and Choral Festivals, which were hosted at BHS this year. 

On Jan. 11, the school welcomed 130 top band students from 35 schools across Bucks and Montgomery counties. Bensalem students selected were Ethan Zhao (flute), Levi Tedder (bass clarinet), Nishanth Behala (tuba), Jenni Kolano (saxophone), Jake Wagner (guitar/trumpet), Yasmine Chakrane (clarinet), Samantha Bajek (trumpet) and Nate Kollman (bari sax). 

On Jan. 25, BHS students Aidan McLendon, Nick Ferriola, Ethan Hinshaw, Emiliano Quinones, Jacob Ashford, Maggie MacAdams, Samantha Bajek, Ah’vae Turay and Teni Onilari participated in the PMEA District 11 Choral Festival. These students sang alongside some of the most talented singers from over 30 schools in Bucks and Montgomery counties. 

Additionally, Bajek will be moving forward to the Region 6 Band and Chorus Festivals. Hinshaw, Quinones and MacAdams were selected to the Region 6 Chorus Festival.

PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization of over 4,000 members dedicated to promoting and supporting quality music education, learning and performance in schools and communities in Pennsylvania.
