Blue Sunday Bar & Grill, an Asian-American Fusion restaurant specializing in creating a modern and approachable take on casual upscale dining, officially opened in Bensalem on Thursday, Dec. 14, at 3340 Street Road.

The eatery’s executive chef Elson Zheng boasts a rich culinary journey spanning Asian and American kitchens. Zheng helped cofound and lead the kitchens of popular names like Shogun, TopPot Korean BBQ, Nan Xiang Express and the first Blue Sunday Bar & Grill in Bowie, Maryland. His love for American bar and grill food drove him to his most recent venture, the first franchise store of Blue Sunday Bar & Grill.

Drawing inspiration from the nuanced artistry of Asian flavors and the bold, hearty tastes of American classics, Zheng promises a unique and elevated dining experience that marries the best of both worlds. Fine dining offerings include a Lobster & Scallop Medley, a grilled lobster and pan-seared scallops glazed with a house seafood cream sauce. Other menu highlights include Spicy Curry Fried Rice, Rib-Eye Steak and Singapore Noodles.

“We are thrilled to bring a taste of the casual upscale dining world to Bensalem through our Asian-American fusion restaurant,” said Blue Sunday general manager Hieu Hoang. “Our passion is not just about serving exceptional dishes, but igniting a culinary renaissance in the Bensalem area in an approachable and friendly manner.”

The 7,500-square-foot restaurant features a sleek black marble bar surrounded by chandelier lighting, creating an ambient atmosphere. The dining room layout includes dark mahogany tables, leather seating, and maroon and gold accents throughout.

Guests interested in hosting private events can reserve Blue Sunday’s private room, which accommodates up to 40 guests.

Blue Sunday Bar & Grill is open seven days a week, from 3 p.m. to midnight, with extended hours on Friday and Saturday, to 1 a.m.
