NOVA announced that it received a $3,200 donation from the Kutt family, representing the proceeds from the Jason Kutt Annual Car Meet, held in August at The Home Depot in Souderton.

The event is held in honor of Jason Kutt, who lost his life at the age of 18 due to a hunting accident at Lake Nockamixon on Oct. 24, 2020. Kutt was a car enthusiast, and his family holds an annual car meet to celebrate his life and memory.

Since his passing, the Kutt family has launched a website (jasonkuttlegacyfund.org) and organized fundraising events in Kutt’s honor to raise money and foster changes in the community aimed at keeping neighborhoods safe. Updates on upcoming events can also be found on Facebook at “Justice for Jason Kutt.” The family works to support causes that promote hunting safety and responsibility.

Dana Kutt, his mother, expressed her family’s gratitude for all that NOVA and its advocates have done to support them through the legal process surrounding Kutt’s death.

“We cannot thank NOVA enough. Because of their expertise, resources and support, we as a family are in a much better place,” she said. “The road to recovery after being a victim of crime is a long one, and with NOVA’s help, we know we will come out of this situation stronger.”

The family hopes its donation will help raise awareness about NOVA and the services the organization provides.

“We are so grateful to the Jason Kutt Memorial Fund for their support of NOVA,” said Michelle Cash, director of development. “The car show is a wonderful, fun community event and a very important way to raise awareness about NOVA’s services and programs. We applaud the courage and dedication of the Kutt family to take the circumstances of their son’s tragic death and turn it into an opportunity to raise awareness in the community about hunting safety and responsibility.”
