Sesame Place is introducing the 123 Playground, an all-new 3,000-square-foot play area, in spring 2024. Located just across from the iconic Sesame Street Neighborhood, the 123 Playground will be surrounded by blooming flower beds and friendly topiaries modeled after Sesame Street friends.

The play area will provide seating for adults to relax and recharge under garden-inspired shades while their young ones run around and enjoy classic playground elements. This includes slides, soft play mounds and interactive play panels featuring entertaining activities that children can enjoy on their own or with others, creating an experience that is physically and developmentally engaging.

“We are thrilled to share our plans for 2024. After speaking with many of our guests and season pass members, the most requested attraction for our park has been a playground where children of all ages can climb, hop and play, and we’re so excited to bring this request to life,” said Cathy Valeriano, park president of Sesame Place Philadelphia. “Families come to Sesame Place to enjoy rides and attractions suited for all ages, and the 123 Playground will provide a charming and welcoming spot for our youngest guests to play and relax together.”

The 123 Playground will be centrally located at the former site of the Sunny Day Carousel, with easy access to dining, shopping locations and meet & greets with everyone’s favorite furry friends. The Sunny Day Carousel, currently being colorfully renovated, will move to the center of Sesame Plaza, greeting guests as they enter the theme park. The Sunny Day Carousel will open in its new location in spring 2024.
