Retail theft
Amanda M. Maggiani, 31, of Bensalem Township, was arrested after allegedly committing three retail thefts in two days. On Oct. 30, she fled the Walgreens and CVS, both in Feasterville, with assorted merchandise without paying. Then, on Oct. 31, she returned to the CVS in Feasterville with Michelle Dorsey, 48, of Bensalem, where they allegedly fled the business with assorted merchandise without paying. CVS staff approached the two as they were fleeing, and the merchandise was recovered. Criminal charges have been filed for both Maggiani and Dorsey, who are awaiting their day in court.
Arson investigation
The Bensalem Township Police and Fire departments are investigating an arson at a residence on Sarmiento Drive in Bensalem Township on Oct. 24. Police are attempting to identify the two subjects captured on the residence’s surveillance system. When they fled the residence, the suspects stole a white Xbox and Beats headphones. One subject is dressed in all-black clothing and the second subject is wearing tan pants and a hooded gray sweatshirt. Retail theft
On Nov. 6, at 3:25 a.m., a man entered the Wawa located at 929 Bustleton Pike in Feasterville, grabbed two red Wawa carry bags, proceeded to the rear of the un-attended counter, filled the bags with cartons of Newport Menthol and Marlboro Menthol Green cigarettes, and then fled the store without paying. He was observed arriving and then fleeing in a gray sedan, possibly a Nissan, which appeared to have been occupied by a front-seat passenger. The vehicle fled southbound along Bustleton Pike toward Philadelphia. Coat donation
The Bensalem Township Police Department is thanking Greg O’Brien, from the FBI Philadelphia Citizens Academy Alumni Association, and Betsy McCreery, from the Philadelphia FBI Office, for teaming up with local officers and the Bensalem Township School District to donate 50 new winter coats to Benjamin Rush Elementary School.
