The public is invited on Monday, Dec. 11, at 5:30 p.m. for a local author event with illustrator Sarah Kaizar and Bristol author A. Scott Meiser. They will discuss their book Rare Air: Endangered Birds, Bats, Butterflies & Bees at the Grundy Library, 680 Radcliffe St. in Bristol.
Rare Air is the culmination of artist Kaizar’s dedication to illustrating endangered fauna. It features 66 endangered species of flight (33 birds, five bats, 12 bees and 16 butterflies), presented in her scientifically-accurate and engaging pen-and-ink style. Additionally, informative and story-driven natural histories of each species by writer Meiser complement the art, as well as interviews with biologists who are working to sustain some of the same species. Attendees will be able to purchase Rare Air following the program.
Seating is limited for this event; register online at grundylibrary.org or by calling 215-788-7891.
This program is offered by Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library in support of the PA Forward | Pennsylvania Libraries initiative.
