SCORE Bucks County is offering five free webinars in November in a continued effort to keep the local business community informed.
“IRS: Tip Reporting and Other Tax Resources” takes place Nov. 8. Led by Leslie Chambers and Richard Furlong, Internal Revenue Service senior stakeholder liaisons, the webinar offers essential tax insights for small business owners and entrepreneurs. The session will cover: tip reporting by employer; tip reporting by employee; what the gig economy means for your tax obligations.
“Top IP Mistakes of Startups — and How to Avoid Them” takes place Nov. 14. Cynthia Dahl, director of Detkin IP and Technology Legal Clinic at the Penn Carey Law School in Philadelphia, leads the webinar. She will discuss: protecting your startup’s intellectual property; creating an IP strategy on a lean budget; how to use a lawyer efficiently.
“ChatGPT, Artificial Intelligence, and How They Can Help Your Small Business” takes place Nov. 16. Led by SCORE mentor Charlie Morris, a retired software developer and technology executive, the session focuses on ChatGPT’s capabilities and specific use cases for it in the small business environment. Morris will discuss: how ChatGPT works; how ChatGPT can help a small business be more creative and efficient; the AI software’s limitations and weaknesses; other emerging AI tools and what they will mean for small businesses.
“Why Should Anyone Work For You?” takes place Nov. 28. SCORE volunteer Catherine Weaver, a retired human resource professional, leads the webinar, which focuses on creative approaches and skillful interviewing techniques to find ideal candidates. Weaver will highlight: necessary steps to take before hiring activities; ideas on recruiting employees beyond traditional employment ads; improving interview skills using behavior-based questions.
“Make the Internet Work for You” takes place Nov. 30. Led by Cary Baskin, owner of a website, SEO and digital marketing agency, the session provides insight on the business aspect of online marketing, including goal setting and how to structure digital marketing campaigns for success. Baskin will also highlight: six core internet marketing strategies to drive traffic to your website; how artificial intelligence will be applied to internet marketing; actionable insights to build a viable internet marketing plan.
