Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic Medical Group announced that Brian Rosenthal, DO, FACOS, an experienced urologist, joined St. Mary Comprehensive Urologic Specialists on Oct. 2. Rosenthal has a special interest in robotics and minimally invasive urologic surgery for tumors of the kidney, ureter and prostate, as well as for non-malignant urologic diseases.
“We are thrilled to have Dr. Rosenthal join our team of expert urological care providers,” said Amit Powar, MD, president of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic Medical Group. “Already a well-respected and highly-skilled surgeon known throughout Bucks County, Dr. Rosenthal will serve as a key figure within the growing urology program at St. Mary Medical Center, helping us to continue providing high-level care and experience for our patients.”
Rosenthal earned his bachelor’s degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and then attended medical school and completed his internship at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a residency in general surgery at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, and a residency in urology at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Einstein Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. During his residency, Rosenthal gained additional training in urologic oncology and pediatric urology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Rosenthal serves on multiple speakers’ bureaus and presents lectures on urologic topics for other physicians. He is the author of numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and his article “Photoselective Vaporization of the Prostate in Office and Outpatient Settings” was published by The Canadian Journal of Urology. He has also received many awards, including the Pfizer Scholars in Urology award for excellence in urology.
Additionally, Rosenthal is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association and the Large Urology Group Practice Association.
