Nominations are open for Lower Bucks Chamber of Commerce’s 2023 Champions of Commerce Awards

Winners will be recognized during a gala on Nov. 16 in Warminster

The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce announced that nominations are now being accepted for the 10th annual Champions of Commerce Awards.

The awards, presented by Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic/St. Mary Medical Center, honor and celebrate the leadership of individuals, businesses and nonprofits that serve as powerful champions for the good of the Lower Bucks community.

“The Champions of Commerce Awards are not just a celebration of business achievements; they are a testament to the uniqueness of our community. Each year, we honor those who drive innovation, foster collaboration and shape the future of commerce, ensuring that Bucks County thrives and grows. These champions are the heartbeat of our community, and it’s essential we recognize their contributions,” said Joseph Szafran, executive director, Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce.

Individuals, businesses and organizations can be nominated online through Friday, Sept. 8. The winners will be recognized at the Champions of Commerce Awards gala, set for Nov. 16, at The Fuge in Warminster.

Champions of Commerce nominees must live, work or impact business in Bucks County, and be available to attend the awards ceremony. Winners will be notified via email and need to be present at the Champions of Commerce award gala.

The nine award categories include:

Community Outreach Champion: Presented to a person or business dedicated to driving and achieving positive change in the community. Nominees may be those who create quality services, or those who provide resources directly.

Entrepreneur of the Year Champion: Presented to an individual who has taken a risk, persevered and succeeded in their professional career.

Economic Impact Champion: Presented to a business that has demonstrated a commitment to investing in job creation and growth opportunities in their business and/or community, providing a vision that will impact the economy of Bucks County over the next three years.

Industry Innovator Champion: Presented to a business or entity that has successfully developed or implemented innovative technology.

Nonprofit Champion: Recognizes a nonprofit organization that has made significant contributions and demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the betterment of Bucks County.

Community Impact Champion: Presented to a person or business that has helped elevate and improve the quality of life in Lower Bucks County. Nominees may be creators or stewards of art and community culture, or they may create or improve parks and other open spaces, plan community events and/or create community centers.

Startup Champion: Presented to a business, formed after January 2023, that has shown growth and development while overcoming obstacles and creating an organization and/or product from the ground up.

Workforce Development Champion: Honors an individual, organization or business that has played a pivotal role in creating a thriving and sustainable workforce by implementing innovative programs, providing resources and advocating for workforce development initiatives in Lower Bucks County.

Young Professional of the Year: Presented to a Young Professional who is 45 or under and demonstrates personal and professional leadership and community service.

“Winning last year’s Nonprofit Champion award was not just a recognition for the Bucks County Housing Group, but also a reflection of the collaborative spirit of Bucks County. Being part of the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce has connected us with individuals and businesses that share our mission, and together, we are working toward positive change,” said Erik Clare, executive director, Bucks County Housing Group. “This award is a testament that when communities and commerce come together, they can uplift, inspire and create a better world.”
