St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne was recently honored by the American Hospital Association in appreciation for its 50 years of participation and leadership in the AHA.

Founded in 1898, the AHA is the national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, healthcare networks, and their patients and communities. Nearly 5,000 hospitals, healthcare systems, networks and other providers of care, along with 43,000 individual members, come together to form the AHA.

AHA regional executive Michael Draine presented the award to St. Mary Medical Center president and CEO Michael Magro Jr., DO, on July 26.

“The American Hospital Association is proud to recognize St. Mary Medical Center for 50 years of membership in the AHA and for their continued commitment to serving their patients and communities,” said Draine. “St. Mary Medical Center has been instrumental in providing a range of important healthcare services to Bucks County. We thank their leaders, caregivers and other staff for their dedication to improving health and providing the highest quality care.”

“We are grateful to the AHA for this recognition,” said Magro. “They are a trusted national resource and voice for hospitals, providers, patients and our community neighbors. AHA’s support comes in many forms, from advocacy efforts that support access to care, to market reports, education and self-care resources to prevent burnout in healthcare workers. They are celebrating their own milestone in 2023 — 125 years — which is incredible when you consider how drastically modern medicine has changed over that period. We look forward to being connected to AHA for many years to come.”
