Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic announced that St. Mary Medical Center has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report — the global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice — as high-performing for numerous procedures and conditions, and among those on the prestigious “Best Hospitals” list.
The annual Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, now in the 34th year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive quality care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.
St. Mary Medical Center has been recognized as a 2023-24 Best Hospital. U.S. News also recognized St. Mary as a 2023-24 High Performing Hospital for the following procedures and conditions: heart bypass surgery; heart failure; COPD; diabetes; heart attack; knee replacement; leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma; and stroke. This is the highest award a hospital can earn for U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions rankings.
For the 2023-24 Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 21 procedures and conditions. Only 12 percent of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals ranking. Hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care and patient experience.
