An active shooter at a school is a community’s worst nightmare, and Bensalem Police are training to act with urgency, stop the gunman and defend innocent lives above all else.

The Bensalem Township Police Department has been conducting active shooter training for many years, and continues to train in real environments like local schools.

In cooperation with the Bensalem Township School District, police officers have been attending classroom and scenario-based training at Russell C. Struble Elementary School over the past few weeks.

Officers are trained to enter quickly in small formations, or even enter the school with only one or two officers in the event of an active shooter.
