“Beginners Guide to Bonsai” is the featured program at the monthly meeting of the Trevose Horticultural Society on Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bensalem Senior Center, 1850 Byberry Road, Bensalem.
Joe Heald will demonstrate step-by-step basics on how to plant, grow and maintain a Bonsai plant. His show and tell will include plant selection, containers, soil preference, trimming, over-wintering both indoors and outdoors, and the proper tools for planting and maintenance.
An avid gardener and member of the Trevose Horticultural Society, Heald’s interest in Bonsai has grown over the last five years. He finds the art both challenging and rewarding.
