Uturah Golson, 32, of Pottstown, has been arrested for the attempted rape of a 12-year-old girl in Bensalem.
In March, Golson began a conversation on a dating app with an alleged 12-year-old female. The conversation was sexual in nature, with Golson asking if the juvenile liked older men and if she could send him explicit photos. The messaging continued for over three months, during which Golson asked the juvenile to meet with him to have intercourse.
On July 8, Golson took public transportation from his home in Pottstown to Bensalem to meet with the juvenile to have a sexual encounter. That meeting never took place, but Golson was identified as being in the area while he was messaging the juvenile, stating that he was at her residence.
After the canceled meeting, Golson continued to message the 12-year-old. At one point, the juvenile stated that she was at her friend’s house. Golson asked about her friend’s age and, when she said 11 years old, Golson asked to meet with both of them.
Bensalem Police obtained an arrest warrant for Golson, charging him with Criminal Attempt Rape of a Child Under the Age of 13 and related offenses. Bensalem Police then contacted Pottstown Police Department and advised them of the active warrant.
On Thursday, July 13, at 11 a.m., Pottstown Police arrested Golson at his residence. He was transported to the Bensalem Township Police Department, where he was arraigned by District Justice Joseph Falcone and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $10 million bail.
