Bensalem Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on Thursday, July 7, around 10:15 p.m. The 14-year-old pedestrian was struck in the westbound lanes of Street Road just prior to the Route 1 overpass and was killed.
Two juvenile males were crossing the roadway mid-block when a dark gray four-door sedan (believed to be a Honda) swerved out of the left lane to miss the first juvenile. The sedan possibly struck the second juvenile who was standing in the middle lane. The second juvenile was lying in the roadway when he was struck again by a silver Hyundai Tucson.
Neither of the vehicles attributed to the causation of this crash. Both vehicles immediately stopped, but the driver of the dark gray four-door sedan got back in his vehicle and left the scene prior to police arrival. The sedan continued westbound on Street Road and entered into Lower Southampton. The operator of the silver Hyundai Tucson remained on-scene.
Bensalem Police would like to talk to the driver of the dark gray sedan. Police are following several leads to help them identify the driver who did not remain at the scene of the crash. Police urge the driver of the sedan to contact the Bensalem Township Police Department right away.
The dark gray sedan may have damage to the lower portion of the front end of the vehicle. Anyone with information about the identity of the driver or the location of the vehicle should submit an anonymous tip at bucks.crimewatchpa.com/bensalempd/ or contact Bensalem Police at 215-633-3719.
