On Monday, June 12, at 9:30 p.m., Bensalem Police responded to the office of the Red Roof Inn on Street Road for the report of a domestic assault. Upon arrival, a 15-year-old female stated that she got into an argument with her father, identified as Juan Vega Figueroa, 35, of E. 9th Street in Chester.
During the argument, her father struck her in the head with a beer bottle and fled the scene. He left his three children, aged 12, 15 and 16, at the hotel. When officers went to the hotel room, they observed numerous baggies of a white powdery substance and an extended semi-automatic handgun magazine that was loaded with live rounds. A search warrant was obtained for the room.
Police seized a total of 110 baggies of suspected Fentanyl from the hotel room, along with an extended Glock magazine that was loaded with 10 live rounds, with additional rounds nearby.
The children were transported to the Bensalem Township Police Department, where they were turned over to Bucks County Children and Youth. Children and Youth advocates were able to contact the children’s grandmother, who took custody of them.
