A Bensalem Township Police officer was on patrol when he spotted a white Toyota Camry committing a traffic violation on Bristol Pike in front of the Wawa store. The vehicle then pulled into the Wawa parking lot and the driver exited the vehicle. The officer observed an empty gun holster on the subject’s left hip and ordered him back into the vehicle.
The driver was identified as Grant Lyons, 42, of River Road in Bensalem. A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted and a loaded .40 caliber Stoeger Cougar pistol was found inside of the center, along with drugs and drug paraphernalia.
It was discovered that Lyons was not allowed to possess a firearm by law. He was charged with Persons Not to Possess a Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance and related offenses. He was arraigned by District Justice Jan Vislosky and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $800,000 bail.
