At the May 23 meeting, the Bensalem Township School District board of school directors approved the appointment of Dr. Donna L. Minnigh to the position of director of teaching and learning.
Minnigh has over 18 years of educational experience in the Pennsbury School District at both the elementary and secondary levels. Since August 2015, she has served as principal of Oxford Valley Elementary School. Her leadership style promotes an inclusive, data-driven, instructional approach to develop student growth, while building collaboration, collegiality, and pride among stakeholders to secure student success and a positive culture.
Minnigh earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Gwynedd Mercy University. She received her K-12 principal certification from Cabrini University and a master of arts in elementary and special education at LaSalle University. She completed her bachelor of arts degree at Shippensburg University and her certificate in Spanish at the Universidad de Valladolid in Valladolid, Spain.
“‘There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination and finish with an education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning (Jiddu Krishnamurti).’ In reflection, these wise words set the foundation for my work as an educator: to promote the love of lifelong learning in our students through educational programming, lived experiences and amazing teachers,” said Minnigh.
