Marcell backs resolution to honor emergency dispatchers, operators

House Resolution 71 declares April 9-15 ‘National Public Safety Telecommunications Week’

Rep. Kristin Marcell (R-Bucks) recently supported a resolution to recognize the contributions of 911 operators.

“This vote shows the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania truly supports our emergency care operators and dispatchers while spreading public awareness of the critical work these individuals do for our communities,” Marcell said.

House Resolution 71, introduced by Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks), declares April 9-15 “National Public Safety Telecommunications Week” and recognizes the critical services provided by 911 operators and dispatchers throughout the commonwealth, and the impact their work has on our communities.

“These are critical workers who respond to emergencies, assist first responders during accidents, provide first aid guidance over the phone, and comfort people in their time of need,” Marcell said. “This resolution salutes these hardworking men and women who dedicate their lives to helping our communities and saving lives.”

House Resolution 71 passed unanimously.
