Bucks County Free Library’s fourth annual Bucks for Books fundraiser begins Sunday, April 23, on World Book Day. The library’s goal is to raise $15,000 for new physical books, ebooks and audiobooks. Every $20 donation adds another new book to the collection shared by all public libraries in the county.
In 2022, Bucks County Free Library’s seven branches loaned more than 1.3 million physical and digital books, according to Holly Ambrose, Bucks County Free Library’s collection management director. Based on data from the first three months of this year, she expects that number to increase in 2023, particularly for ebooks and audiobooks.
“It’s encouraging to see the library’s collection is meeting the wide variety of needs and interests in Bucks County,” Ambrose said. “The support we receive during Bucks for Books is vital for helping increase the variety of titles available, add more copies of popular books to reduce wait times, and strike the right balance between physical and digital books.”
