On Tuesday, April 18, students from the Neshaminy High School Interact Club are partnering with Jersey Mike’s, 182 W. Street Road, Feasterville, to raise funds for a local child on Sunshine Foundation’s waiting list. Jersey Mike’s Dine for Dollars is donating 25 percent of sales made between 4 and 8:30 p.m.
Funds raised will help answer the dream of Savannah Hays, 4, of Penndel, who is diagnosed with low-functioning autism and global developmental delay. She dreams of visiting the Peppa Pig Theme Park at LEGOLAND Florida and Disney World with her family.
“Savannah loves Peppa Pig, and Minnie and Mickey,” said her mom. “As a single parent with five special needs kiddos, it is hard to go anywhere due to finances. I just want to see their happy faces.”
Other local organizations that are helping to make Savannah’s dream come true include: Gannon Insurance Agency, Feasterville Business Association, Middletown Township Parks & Recreation, True North Massage & Bodywork, Hetzel 4, Inc. and CENTURY 21 Ramagli Real Estate.
Interact is an international service-learning organization affiliated with the Rotary, with the goal to help make our world a better place. Interact has projects going on throughout the entire school year, including the annual Neshaminy’s Got Talent to help Sunshine Foundation answer a local child’s dream.
Sunshine Foundation answers the dreams of children with lifelong chronic illnesses and conditions, such as: spina bifida, cerebral palsy, severe low-functioning autism, Down syndrome, hydrocephalus, severe epilepsy, Sickle Cell Disease, blindness, deafness, trauma from abuse and many others.
The foundation provides a “dream come true” for children that may be turned away from other wish-granting organizations that require a life-threatening or critical diagnosis.
