Family Service welcomes new chief operating officer

Kristin DeForest, LPC, brings decades of experience in the nonprofit human services field

Family Service Association of Bucks County, a nonprofit social service organization that helped nearly 50,000 children, teens and adults last year, recently announced Kristin DeForest, LPC, as the agency’s new chief operating officer.

A seasoned professional, she brings decades of experience in the nonprofit human services field, and has served in a variety of clinical and administrative roles.

Prior to joining Family Service, DeForest spent nearly 18 years at Edison Court, Inc. in Doylestown, advancing her way up to executive director. She has extensive knowledge using technology and innovation to improve operations of a complex social service agency.

“As a resident of Bucks County for more than 20 years, I am humbled by the opportunity to join Family Service,” said DeForest. “The vision of the organization speaks to a commitment to help ensure all members of our community are given the opportunity to reach their full potential. There is truly nothing more rewarding to me than serving the community my own family calls home.”

“We are so very happy and fortunate to have Kristin joining our senior leadership team,” said Family Service chief executive officer Julie Dees. “Her combination of experience, knowledge and track record of proven success are spectacular, and her visionary management style fits our agency perfectly.”
