Bensalem High School is hosting the FIRST Robotics Mid-Atlantic Competition on April 1 and 2. The event features 31 teams of high school students from across the region competing in a robotics challenge.
Opening ceremonies on April 1 are at 10:30 a.m., with the matches from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Sunday, the matches are from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The FIRST Robotics Competition is an international competition that challenges students to build robots capable of competing in a challenging field game. The game, along with the required set of tasks, changes annually.
The Bensalem High School event will feature teams from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Teams will compete in a single-elimination tournament. The winners of the tournament will compete at the FIRST Robotics Mid-Atlantic District Championships at Lehigh University. The event is free and open to the public.
