Sesame Place introduces paid internship program for employees

These positions are paid and eligible for college credit

Sesame Place has implemented an all-new summer internship program. Internships can be both paid and eligible for college credit where applicable, with positions in departments including Park Operations, Entertainment, Culinary and Merchandise.

Internships run for 12 weeks, beginning in mid-May and ending mid-August. Aside from normal, in-park duties such as operating attractions, executing sales and delivering excellent guest service, internships consist of learning components. This includes a weekly seminar series in which interns can network and learn from industry experts. Interns will each be matched to a mentor, with additional opportunities to shadow park leaders and for promotions after the internship period.

While internships are geared toward college students, anyone interested in the theme park or hospitality industry is encouraged to apply for this unique, in-person learning experience. Interns will be required to work at least three days a week, with the opportunity for more hours based on availability.

“Here at Sesame Place, we always encourage our Ambassadors to learn and grow,” said park president Cathy Valeriano. “This is an invaluable experience for anyone looking for a career in theme park management or hospitality, and we look forward to welcoming the next generation of industry leaders.”

Interested applicants can apply for positions online at sesameplacejobs.com.

Additionally, on Saturday, March 4, Sesame Place is holding a job fair and entertainment auditions, seeking to hire enthusiastic, friendly and hardworking individuals. Last year, Forbes recognized SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, which includes Sesame Place, as one of America’s Best Large Employers of 2022.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., interested applicants can meet with department representatives to learn about available positions, with the potential to be interviewed and hired that day. Open positions include: Food & Beverage Ambassador, Ride Operator, Lifeguard, Guest Arrival Ambassador, Photographer and Security Ambassador.

Individuals interested in joining the park’s talented entertainment team can audition for department leaders on March 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Potential applicants looking to showcase their performance skills and abilities have an opportunity to do so in a one-of-a-kind setting with an entertainment industry leader. Open positions within the entertainment department include: Performer, Actor, Vocalist, Puppeteer, Costume Specialist, and Entertainment and Theming Technician.

Part-time positions are available, with the potential for full-time hours and year-round employment. If hired, applicants can earn up to $15 per hour and may be eligible for a $400 hiring bonus. Sesame Place Ambassadors receive up to $3,500 in additional perks, including free park admission to SeaWorld parks, discounted park admission tickets and passes for family and friends, scholarship opportunities, and exclusive employee events and giveaways. Interested applicants ages 15 years and older can apply prior at sesameplacejobs.com.
