In 2021, Family Service took a unique approach to its Annual Appeal launch by going virtual. This decision resulted in the agency’s most successful campaign of its kind to date. That is, until the 2022 Virtual Annual Appeal raised approximately $21,000 more than its predecessor. “Creating a Brighter Tomorrow” was launched on Nov. 30, 2022, and concluded on Dec. 31. The total amount raised during that time frame was $125,912, all of which is already supporting vital human and social service programs for Bucks County neighbors in need.
Chief executive officer Julie Dees is once again thrilled with the outcome.
“Family Service has an amazing group of donors, all of whom are always willing to step up and support our organization to make a difference in the lives of so many people who need help,” said Dees. “We were unsure what role the pandemic played in last year’s success, but we believed that it was absolutely worth taking a virtual approach again, and clearly our generous donors responded in a significant way.”
Deborah Van Aken, president of the board of directors, is also overwhelmed with the campaign’s success.
“Keeping our Annual Appeal online has once again proven to be an ideal way of connecting with our wonderful donors and friends,” said Van Aken. “There is something to be said for learning about all of the incredible work that is being done at Family Service and having the opportunity to support our agency from the comfort of your own home or having the option to do so at your own convenience.”
The Annual Appeal featured a Zoom launch, which incorporated a live component and an overview, highlighting agency programs, services and outcomes. The campaign keyed mostly on social media and email, providing participants with the opportunity to pledge individual support, or reach out to others in their network to join the cause.
