The Bensalem Township Police Department announced that Officer Thomas Martinka, with K-9 Rico, and Officer Dylan Gallagher, with K-9 Max, have successfully graduated their 14-week patrol school at the Philadelphia Police Canine Training Center.
Both K-9 teams will undergo a few weeks of in-house training prior to their reassignment with the Patrol Division.
K-9 Rico is a 1-year-old Belgian Malinois and K-9 Max is a 1-year-old Dutch Shepherd. Martinka and Gallagher are looking forward to working with their new furry colleagues to apprehend criminals for many years to come.
