Bensalem Police warn of jury duty scam

Residents are reporting calls from ‘officers’ requesting money from the resident for failing to attend jury duty

Bensalem Police have been receiving reports that someone is calling residents stating they are a Bensalem Township Police Officer. The nature of the calls are that the “officer” is requesting restitution, in the form of money, for the resident failing to attend jury duty or respond to the jury duty summons.

Bensalem Police do not collect any money for jury duty nor do they collect money over the phone for any other reason.

If you receive this type of call, it is fraudulent. Residents are urged to pass this information along to family and friends. If you have any questions about a phone call soliciting money for the police department, call 215-633-3719 to report the activity.
