Kristin Marcell sworn in for first term

The former Council Rock school board member is serving residents of the 178th District

Rep. Kristin Marcell (R-Bucks) was recently sworn in to her first term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the people of the 178th District, previously led by Rep. Wendi Thomas.

“I am honored to represent the residents of the 178th District,” said Marcell. “I thank them for placing their faith in me to share their concerns and craft legislation to solve those problems.”

Marcell brings to Harrisburg rich experience from both the private and public sectors. After graduating from college, Marcell worked in Washington D.C. at the U.S. Department of Transportation and also served in the legislative branch.

In 2014, she attended her first school board meeting as a parent advocating alongside community members to save their local elementary school from closure.

“That’s when I knew there was more I could do to help my community,” she said.

Marcell successfully ran for the Council Rock school board in 2019 and 2021, where she advocated for students and to give parents a voice in their kids’ education. She also worked with others to safely reopen Council Rock schools during the pandemic.
