The African American Museum of Bucks County and the Bucks County Commissioners are holding a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 11 a.m. at historic Boone Farm, 867 Langhorne-Newtown Road, to mark the beginning of the renovation project to create a permanent home for the museum.
Once a bustling farmhouse, the Boone Farm property is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and has historical ties to the Great Migration of the 20th century, during which 6 million African Americans moved out of rural southern states to northern areas, such as Pennsylvania, in search of economic opportunity.
