Langhorne’s Christine Moran is associate vice president of student success at McDaniel College

She works with all areas of academic and campus life to provide cross-divisional support for students

Christine Moran, of Langhorne, recently joined McDaniel College as its new associate vice president of student success.

In this role, Moran works with all areas of academic and campus life to provide cross-divisional support for students. Her responsibilities include determining ways of enhancing students’ sense of belonging and achievement, maximizing academic support services for all students, and developing flexible paths within academic programs to facilitate degree completion.

“Her cross-divisional and collaborative approach, along with her strong leadership, is an incredible asset to the McDaniel family, especially our students,” said McDaniel College president Julia Jasken.

Moran brings over 25 years of experience in education. She most recently served as vice provost of student success and the dean of the School of Education at Stevenson University. In her eight years at Stevenson, she served as assistant vice president of student success, interim associate dean of student success, associate dean of service-learning and professor of education.

During her tenure at Stevenson, she was responsible for 31 university-wide initiatives related to student retention and success. She was also involved in crafting strategic initiatives for student success, program development and accreditation.

Prior to her time at Stevenson, she served as a professor of education at Immaculata University. Moran began her career in education teaching social studies at Abington Senior High School.

“I am excited to be part of the McDaniel community,” said Moran. “In the short time since my arrival, I have witnessed a caring community deeply committed to engaging students and supporting their success. I look forward to being part of this important work and assisting McDaniel students with their academic, personal and professional growth in my role here at the college.”

Moran holds a Ph.D. in educational psychology from Temple University. She earned both a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and history and a master’s degree in education from La Salle University.
