Legislation authored by Rep. Frank Farry to honor veterans who have received an Air Medal with a special registration license plate now awaits the governor’s signature to become law.
“Air Medal recipients have displayed unmeasurable acts of service to our country. By allowing these veterans their very own special registration plate, we are thanking and recognizing them for their service,” Farry said. “A local veteran and Air Medal recipient advocated for this legislation and after multiple sessions of trying to get this bill passed, I am pleased it has reached the governor’s desk.”
House Bill 1571 would allow any recipient of the Air Medal to apply for a special registration license plate through PennDOT, accompanied by a fee of $23. The Air Medal is awarded to members of the military who have distinguished themselves by meritorious achievement while serving with the U.S. armed forces in aerial flight.
The bill had received full support from the state House and Senate.
