Worth & Company’s annual fall charity golf outing raised $100,000 for Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund and the Temple/St. Luke’s School of Medicine Scholarship Fund.

The event was held at the Lederach Golf Club at Harleysville and the proceeds will be split evenly between the two charities. There were 144 golfers registered and over 100 sponsors and donors who contributed to the outing.

Corporal Michael Johnson, Plumstead Police Department, represented the Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to the children of Bucks County police officers, firefighters, correctional officers and EMTs killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty.

Patrick Bower represented St. Luke’s University Health Network, along with two current students, Ted Peacock and Halle Bagshaw. The Temple/St. Luke’s School of Medicine is a regional medical school located within the St. Luke’s Network. The mission of the school is to educate the doctors of the future, both in the region and beyond. Their goal is to establish an endowment of $25 million.

Worth & Company has held a charity golf tournament in each of the past seven years. Proceeds from the tournament have been donated to area organizations, including: St. Luke’s Hospital, Special Olympics of Bucks County, Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County, Bucks County SPCA and Operation Homefront, an organization that helps military families with financial assistance, transitional housing and caregiver support.

“Our annual charity golf outing is a great time for all who join us. We are extremely grateful to our customers and vendors. Their thoughtful contributions and efforts made this charitable event so successful,” said Stephen Worth, CEO, Worth & Company. “I am truly in awe of all the Worth employees and their collaborative efforts. They volunteered many hours throughout the year to make this event a day for everyone to come together and enjoy. I am humbled by the generosity of our donors and sponsors of all levels. We raised $100,000 in support of the Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund and St. Luke’s University Health Network. Thank you to the incredible staff at Lederach Golf Club and the many organizations and individuals who made this event a huge success.”
