Would you succeed in Victorian society? The Grundy Museum invites the public to learn about the dos and don’ts of the Victorian era on Friday, Nov. 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Victorians took manners to an extreme level and your social status — but overall, your conduct — could determine your fate in life. By examining objects in the Grundy Museum, particularly an exhibit of newly-restored clothing, you’ll learn how to avoid the terrifying prospect of “social ruin” that befell many a man and woman of the day.
Guests are encouraged to bring a calling card reflecting their good taste.
Reservations are required for this unique opportunity. Tickets are $45 per person and space is limited. Ticket sales benefit the Grundy Museum’s CanDoMore fundraising campaign. Light refreshments will be served on the newly-constructed South Lawn after the event. Visit grundymuseum.ticketleap.com to purchase tickets.
The Grundy Museum, 610 Radcliffe St. in Bristol, is also open for free tours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays each week. These one-hour tours are available at 1:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. and registration is required through TicketLeap.
