High Heel Drag Race set for Oct. 30 in New Hope

Participants dressed in costume, including 3-inch or taller heels, race with a pumpkin up and down the hill on W. Mechanic St.

Join New Hope Celebrates for its 18th annual High Heel Drag Race on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 3 p.m. on W. Mechanic St. in New Hope. A long-standing tradition and highlight of the fall season in New Hope, this year’s theme is “All That Glitters Are Ghouls – Bewitching beauties who sparkle, shine and know how to have a scary good time!”

Hosted by New Hope’s own Miss Pumpkin, race participants are dressed in costumes and wear 3-inch or taller high heels. Runners will carry a pumpkin up the hill on W. Mechanic St., decorate the pumpkin and race back down the hill. This is an all-inclusive event, representing New Hope’s diversity and acceptance of all.

There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee required in advance and limited to the first 15 people. All participants should arrive at 2:30 p.m. to check in. All proceeds go to New Hope Celebrates. The event will be held rain or shine. Immediately after, there will be a High Heel Drag Race After Party at Havana New Hope, 105 S. Main St.
