Harvest Celebration is this weekend

Sample seasonal wines, listen to music and more at this annual event hosted by the Bucks County Wine Trail

The Bucks County Wine Trail is hosting its annual Harvest Celebration on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8-9. In addition to sampling a variety of award-winning, locally-made wines, guests can taste freshly-prepared grape juices that have not yet fermented into wine. Below is a breakdown of what each winery has planned for the weekend:

Bishop Estate Vineyard and Winery is offering live music and food trucks. Guests can take part in an actual grape stomping activity. Seasonal favorite Smash’n Pumpkins wine will be served with an optional sweet cinnamon sugar rimmed glass, or try warm spiced Applenoonie Apple wine. Complimentary wagon rides around the vineyard will be available (first come, first served) on Saturday, from 2 to 6 p.m. On Sunday, Bishop is offering two seatings for its fall cupcake and wine pairing, which features three wine-infused cupcakes paired with three wines. Buckingham Valley Vineyards is serving complimentary fresh grape juice and donuts throughout the weekend. Wine slushies, cold wine and light snacks will be available for purchase and can be enjoyed at the winery’s picnic tables. Live music is on Saturday, weather permitting.

Crossing Vineyards and Winery will have live music both days, plus seasonal cocktails and specialty food and wine pairings. A 10 percent discount and cloth wine bag is offered on a purchase of four bottles.

Rose Bank Winery will have live music on Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Rushland Vineyard & Winery is allowing guests to sample fresh-pressed Traminette grape juice (which has a flavor profile of honey, spices and floral notes), along with seasonal cookies. With every paid wine tasting, folks can pick a pumpkin (while supplies last).

Sand Castle Winery is serving its Burčák wine, a baby wine produced only two weeks ago. This refreshing, bubbly wine is slightly carbonated. On Sunday, the winery is hosting live music and will have bratwursts available for purchase. Guests can take in the vineyard and Delaware River bank foliage while relaxing with wine and music.

Harvest Celebration hours and events vary for each winery. Check the winery for specific details. Visit buckscountywinetrail.com for more information.
