Pita Chip celebrating Rosh Hashanah

Rosh Hashawarma family dinners are available through Sept. 27

Pita Chip, the Modern Middle Eastern quick-service restaurant located at 1623 Big Oak Road in Yardley’s Oxford Oaks Shopping Center, is celebrating Rosh Hashanah this year by offering “Rosh Hashawarma” family meal dinners to guests now through the final night of the Jewish high holiday on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Proceeds from Rosh Hashawarma sales benefit Congregation Kol Emet in Yardley. Dinners cost $57.83 each, representing the new year (5783) on the Jewish calendar. Pre-orders are being taken on Pita Chip’s website. Rosh Hashanah takes place from sundown on Sunday, Sept. 25 through sundown on Sept. 27.

The family-style meals, which feed four people, include the customer’s choice of proteins, hummus, rice, lettuce, toppings, sauces, pita bread and raspberry rugelach.

“We opened Pita Chip in Yardley last spring with a very successful benefit for Kol Emet, and their entire congregation has been incredibly supportive ever since, so we decided to give back to them again while making their Jewish new year celebration easier this year,” said Pita Chip co-founder Omar Alsaadi.”We hope those who observe Rosh Hashanah in and around Bucks County consider this option so that they can relax and enjoy time with their families without having to cook throughout the holiday. We also hope that they pre-order in advance, which will help us organize our production.”

While Pita Chip also has locations in University City and at Temple University, the holiday special is only available at the Yardley outpost.

Pita Chip’s menu includes scratch-made hummus and sides, as well as salad bowls, rice bowls and wraps featuring chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, falafel and roasted vegetables. Learn more and place “Rosh Hashawarma” orders at pitachipphilly.com
