Bensalem High School on Friday night posted a 24-6 victory over visiting Norristown in a non-conference football game to open the season.
Zyan Greene returned a punt 69 yards to give the Owls a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Norristown scored late in the second quarter, but missed the extra point, and Bensalem took a 7-6 lead into halftime.
The score remained the same until the fourth quarter, when Michael Schneider returned a fumble 35 yards for a touchdown. In the final minute, Tommy Hurst kicked a 24-yard field goal and Nick Becht returned an interception 19 yards for a touchdown.
Defensively, Corey Jackson intercepted a pass for Bensalem.
The Owls will host Central Bucks East on Friday at 7 p.m. in a non-conference game.
