Bucks Community College Foundation celebrates 40th anniversary

$100 awards will be raffled off to 40 students during the first week of the fall semester

Aug. 12 marks the Bucks County Community College Foundation’s 40th anniversary. In honor of four decades of raising funds to support students, the foundation is raffling $100 awards to 40 students during the first week of the fall semester, which begins on Aug. 24. All students who are registered for the fall 2022 term will be eligible for the $100 award raffle.

Since 1982, the Bucks County Community College Foundation has provided expanded resources to ensure the college’s growth and development. The foundation approaches local, regional and national supporters to create partnerships and raise funds, assistance and awareness in support of both new and existing educational opportunities.

This last year, the foundation provided students with nearly $400,000 in scholarship support, invested in opening food pantries on the college’s three campuses in Bristol, Newtown and Perkasie, and launched an emergency microgrant program to support a student on their educational journey.

This year has also been a historic year for the foundation, having raised the most ever in its 40-year history. The record-breaking year included a number of fundraising events, including a Scholarship Tea, Golf Classic and the inauguration of Bucks’ fifth president Dr. Felicia L. Ganther.

“We are excited to celebrate 40 years of philanthropic efforts to support students at Bucks. The work our foundation does is so critical to ensuring that every student who comes to our college has access to resources to help them cover tuition, pay for books, purchase supplies or assist them when in crisis,” said Ganther. “I am grateful to every individual and corporate entity that has donated to our foundation over the past 40 years. I am hopeful that we will continue to grow our endowments and funds so that we can provide more resources to our students so that they can graduate with little to no debt.”
