Heritage Conservancy is hosting Pollinator Palooza on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of its Jackson Pond Nature Preserve, located in Forest Grove.

Pollinator Palooza is a family-friendly festival celebrating pollinators and the beautiful transformation of Jackson Pond Nature Preserve into a 4-acre pollinator meadow. The event features games, crafts, art sales, plant giveaways, live music, Kona Ice and food purchases from The Vegan Table.

“The goal of Pollinator Palooza is to educate community members about the wonderful pollinators that support us every day and to share the beauty of this unique property,” said Heritage Conservancy communications engagement associate Kaylyn Brindisi. “Given the recent classification of the Monarch butterfly as an endangered species, we want to encourage residents to protect Monarchs and other important pollinators that help our environment thrive.”

As part of the celebration, Heritage Conservancy will offer guided nature walks throughout the day, including a “Walk and Talk” tour at 10:30 a.m. that teaches participants how to install a native plant garden on their own properties.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to play and take home sets of Aqua Marooned!, a game perfect for teens and young adults that encourages players to get outside and explore nature.

In addition, several local partners will be in attendance to provide interactive activities, including Bucks County Audubon Society, Delaware Canal State Park, Bucks Students for Climate Action and Protection of the Environment, The Art of Ecology, Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, and Bird Town Pennsylvania.

The cost of Pollinator Paloozza is $5 for individuals; $15 for a family of up to four members. Pre-registration is encouraged. Cash payments are also accepted at the event entrance. Attendees are advised to park at Forest Grove Presbyterian Church, 1856 Forest Grove Road, Forest Grove, PA 18922.
