Lifelong Middletown Township resident Tom Scott, who has worked for the township for 42 years, has retired. Scott, who was recognized for his years of service during a recent board of supervisors meeting, began working in the Highway Department (now the Department of Public Works) as a mechanic in 1980, the same year he moved to his current home in Parkland and married his wife Carol.

During his tenure with the township, Scott has been instrumental in maintaining its fleet of vehicles. He is capable of fixing nearly anything with a motor. In fact, his efforts and expertise enabled the township to preserve its vehicles much longer than expected.

A testament to his dedication, Scott planned his last day around outfitting the township’s newest police vehicle with equipment, decals and lighting.
