“Herbal Tea” is the featured presentation at the next monthly meeting of the Trevose Horticultural Society on Tuesday, July 19, at 7 p.m. at the Bensalem Senior Center, 1850 Byberry Road, Bensalem.
Guest speaker Dr. Wendy Grube will discuss how to grow, harvest, dry and store common herbs used for both medicinal purposes and the tea making process.
Grube received her doctorate of philosophy in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is currently an adjunct professor teaching clinicians the healing treatment style of herbal plants since 2001. A registered professional member of the American Herbal Guild, Grube nurtured her 30-year interest in growing and storing organic herbs specifically for teas and topical applications. Working with the Goschenhoppen Historians, she researched 18th century medicinal plants in Pennsylvania and delighted in the discovery of original texts from the 1700s.
All meetings are open to the public; a donation of $5 is requested from non-members. Call 856-866-9163 or visit trevosegardeners.org for more information.
